about me
Hello, I'm Lina of Solina Coaching. I'm a Certified Health Coach with a focus on Functional Medicine. My journey began in the corporate world and as a business owner, but after welcoming twins, I changed to an online travel company. Juggling a career alongside young children brought its own set of challenges. In 2019, I took a step back to reflect and decided to shift my path by training as a mat Pilates instructor. This move into the wellness sector felt like a perfect transition, which ultimately led me to add health coaching in 2023. Today, I happily balance both roles, coaching clients from around the world while also teaching Pilates.

"As a single mom and a business owner, I felt it was too much for me and I needed help. Lina helped me understand more about mindfulness. It always opened my mind and perspective to new beginnings. We explored my strengths and in my case it was the fire and the energy I have and how, when it's for a good thing, it serves me. But if something triggers me, it gets into a fire that is uncontrollable. Lina helped me create routines and navigate through them."Jessica:
"Lina has a gentle and highly effective approach to coaching that allowed me a safe space for self-discovery. I always looked forward to our sessions and completed our time together well equipped and with increased self-efficacy."
Pamela:
"I was under a lot of stress and it was affecting many parts of my overall life. I needed someone to talk to about strategies to deal with the stress and get back on track. It was very helpful having someone unbiased to talk to and open up who had lots of empathy and my health and life goals in mind. My biggest success while working with Lina as my coach was learning how to appreciate myself and love myself and be more “present.” I would like to thank you Lina for listening and challenging me to break down my own barriers and listen to my inner self. Lina helped me find my own self-motivation. I appreciated her reflecting on all of my past accomplishments and helping me make ‘ah-ha’ realizations. I really appreciate all what you have done. Thank you for listening, for being there and for all the empathy and care in all my sessions. Highly recommended."
"What My Chinese Grandma Does Every Winter"This title caught my attention immediately. I’ve been a longtime receiver of Traditional Chinese Medicine, especially (five element) acupuncture, so I was curious to see what this post would say.The first lesson was about sleep. It simply stated that we need more rest as the season turns to winter. I’ve often thought about this. It seems almost absurd that as the days get shorter and darker even more is demanded of us with end-of-year busyness and endless festivities. As a working parent of small children, that contrast always felt intense. Yet, the other side of the coin is that these gatherings bring lightness and joy when the days are short. Connection keeps us emotionally warm, even if our schedules say otherwise. Then came the reminder to keep three body parts warm: the neck, lower back, and feet. It makes perfect sense when you think about it and I bet your grandmother, Chinese or not, told you the same. In TCM, warmth equals flow. Cold contracts, slows and stagnates. Keeping the body warm is a way of helping energy move freely, instead of bracing against the season. My nordic grandmother knitted us endless woollen socks against the cold. The post also said, “Ate from the Earth.” In practice, this means eating seasonally, foods that naturally grow during this time. In much of the Western hemisphere, that means root vegetables. I come from Scandinavia, and when I think of our traditional Christmas foods, there’s always something earthy and rooted: beets, carrots, potatoes. Back then, these were simply what was available. Today, even with modern abundance, we still crave warmth: soups, stews, roasted vegetables. The body knows what it needs.Where we really struggle is with the daily rhythm. Imagine if, as a society, we allowed ourselves to slow down when days are shorter and colder, the way warm countries pause for siesta when the heat is too much. Our modern world isn’t built for that, but perhaps we can find smaller ways to honor it: leaving work earlier, adding an extra hour of rest, saying no to one more event. The last line of the post summed it all up beautifully:
Winter is for storing, not spending.Nature is asking more from us now, warmth, rest, nourishment. To move through winter well, we have to listen and adapt. How do you adjust to the change in season? Here is the original post:
